Celebrate the women of Africa and their courageous spirit with this classic single wick scented candle packaged in a beautiful amethyst and gold box. Our African Storm Classic Candles are hand poured in South Africa. They are made using a soy wax blend and fine perfume oils imported from the Grasse region of France. The elegant Cape Island glass cup can be rinsed and recycled once the candle is done.

Our African Storm Classic Candle is inspired by the dramatic thunderstorms of the highveld region of South Africa.

African Storm’s leading herbaceous note is energetic at first but settles into the soft, feminine notes of Jasmine and Sandalwood, creating a dynamic and warming fragrance.

Fragrance Description: African Storm where the petrichor of fresh rain is unleashed through a burst of Exotic Baobab, Jasmine, and the warmth of White Sandalwood.

Purchasing this candle helps to support local non-profit organizations, Hope Risen and S-Cape, both of whom are dedicated to eradicating human trafficking. Cape Island is able to support their important work by donating a percentage of sales from our African Storm Classic Candle.

Approximate burning time: 35 hours

Be rejuvenated by our newest fragrance, African Storm.

Recommendations for use:

  • Burns up to 35 hours
  • The first time you light the classic candle let it burn for 3-4 hours, but never longer than 4 hours
  • Trim the wick to 5mm before each burn to prevent blackening of the glass
  •  After use, always align the wick to its original place so that the candle burns evenly

Candle Care

Tips on taking care of your candle:

1. Trim the wick

To ensure an even and smoke-free burn, the wick should be trimmed to a length of 5mm before each burn. The best time to do this is when the candle wax is completely cool.

2. Create a melt pool

Allow your candle to burn until a pool of wax forms on the candle surface. Wax has a memory and if you extinguish too soon, this may result in "tunnelling". In order to get the most from your candle and maximise scent throw, it is ideal for the entire surface of the candle to liquefy before extinguishing.

3.The 4-hour rule

Never exceed a 4-hour burning time in any burn subsequent to the initial burn. This will help to preserve the fragrance of your candle and prevent unsightly debris and soot from dirtying the wax. Allow your candle to rest for a minimum of 2 hours before lighting again.

4. Never blow out your candle

Blowing out your candle generates a lot of smoke and debris. This mixes with the liquid wax. When the wax is melted, gently turn the wick into the liquid wax to extinguish. After extinguishing, re-centre the wick so that the candle burns evenly.
